Can I reverse a credit card pre-authorisation?

No, only the merchant can pay back a pre-authorised amount, such as a cancelled hotel booking or a deposit when hiring a car. It can take up to 21 days for a credit card pre-authorisation to be processed or cleared from your transactions. To have a pre-authorisation cancelled before that time, please contact the company to whom the payment was made.
